Strange things happening...

some strange things are happening.. 1. wife started smoking.

2. wife agreed that the whole "clean up after armageddon while growing to perfection" thing is all speculation.. 3. as i was going to the meeting tonight (i had a part and kids are sick so she stayed in) she says "do you have to go?"..

4. when i got home she says " i wanna go out and party..... hmmmmmm.

I started smoking cigars once in a while after I left.

Your wife has gone from complaining that you don’t do “family worship night” often enough to smoking? Just 2 months ago you wrote… Wife is a born in and still very strong in her beliefs, or rather very controlled.

So what has changed?

24 hour field service marathon ??

field service for up to twenty-four hours non-stop.... it's a bit of a fad in our area with pioneers - the twenty somethings especially.

we've heard from other family members and a jw friend that it's a thing in their part of the country as well.. it sounds like a group decides on a day and then piles into a van or suv to 'work' the territory - 12, 18 and even 24 hours.. anyone else hearing of this?.

Wow. Not that much, but when i was 17/18 we would go out after meeting till abour 12 or 1 am. We would hit gas stations and truck stops.

for the last year or so, the opening lyrics to gloria estefan's "always tomorrow" have been howling at me.. i've been alone inside myself, far too long.

never really wanted it that way, but i let it happen..... .

(btw, the message in that song is great for former jw's, if you want to think about the lyrics that way....).

neither, my mother became a jw when i was 7, she was a single parent by this time having divorced my father.. are your parents / family jws?.

i was born in, and i'm 30 years old.

it's hard to just read as a guest, and not share with anyone eventually.

Your only 30. That’s great that you woke up so early in life. I was 27 when I began to awaken nearly 3 years ago. We are lucky. Some here (JWN) woke up much later in life. Take your time, especially with your wife. There is a lot of time left in your life. Good luck. I look forward to hearing more about your life. You’re in good company here.
